i gave marta a very short hair cut yesterday. she kept asking me to cut her hair, its cause she was watching me hack away at mine....
so i set her up on a stool and started to cut and cut.
well marta thought it was great, another reason to gaze at herself in the mirror........
if she was a teenager however, im sure she wouldnt be talking to me now...
i cant seem to get this boy out of my head, so here he is again, this time with no pants on and a pair of flippers.....hum
ive infact just started on the third, in what seems to be turning into a series.
i recently came across a blog with the challenge of a painting a day in may.... i struggle to get a painting a month at the moment but felt very tempted by the challange.
marta and i have been reading 'brian banana duck sunshine yellow' every night. the illustrations of chris mckimmie are deliciously refreshing, lots of chuckles to be had.
off we went, dashing out the door busting to get to kindie i was feeling a little nervous so to hide it we sang really loud songs in the car and did a little bit of squeeling...... the kindie where marta goes starts with morning circle. this involves singing songs with a guitar for about 20mins then finishes with a 5min meditation.just watching 3 and 4 year olds confidently welcome in meditation is truely inspiring.....especially since i feel like ive spent so much time baffelled by the meer concept of it.....but there they were being snails eyes closed and in martas case face on the floor and
bum up.
later in the morning they did some yoga, that however is another story.
this is the kindie bag that i have made for marta,
it is an old potatoe sack donated by our fruit and vegie stall
at the vic markets. i was really drawn to the text on the sack
at first but in the process of making the bag i felt a little
sad for marta and her pototoe sack bag, so i brightened
it up with some test patches of printing we have doing.
marta and i have been printing crazy with the trusty gocco
it loads of fun and marta is a wizz with the squeegie.
it has ended up being quite heavily padded which i quite love.
im not finished with the ol pototoe sack and am about to
start a bag for myself
there was a 2lb elephant sitting on a post as we drove out of the carpark of the supermarket this evening.
it is not often we see them around these neck of the woods (suburbs) but it made us all giggle.
