pin the tail on the donkey

me and claude are flying to sydney this week. a chance to hang together and catch up with friends i havnt see for years....it seems as if we have all been busy collecting children.

so i whipped up a wee top and a frock(ill post this when i get around to the buttons). the top is printed with the trusty ol gocco... which we seem to be pulling out weekly.

oh boy its been hot...its ment to be spring but we seem to of whipped into summer....which for us means hats and lots of them. i copied this pattern from an old hat and make minor adjustments when needed.
and a change of season means im back at the machine making clothes for the girls. they arnt fancy and the sewing is very simple but thats what i like about them....they can go all out when they are teenages and be as fancy pants as they need to.

this week marta and i got out the gocco and did a bit a printing whilst claude was asleep. marta printed the top and wore it so proudly to kinda the next day.

and yippie claude is out of nappies and in pants. infact we went to the city the other day and returned home hours later with dry pants. id like to pat myself on the back but i actually think it is marta and the fact that we spend most of the day either talking about wees and poos or doing them....

so while people are in adelaide sipping bubbles i will post the toys i made as part of the exhibition. as with my other toys these are made from recycled rice and flour bags. im very happy with the way they came together especially since it didnt look like it was going to work at all. but there you have it a bit of persistence and a bloody good unpicker. the caravan and car are connected with a hook and eye. the tea cups are press studded to the saucers as too is the lid of the teapot.
