a girl ofter my own heart, this girl isnt thinking smiles and leg waxing oh no shes got mathematics on her mind...yep shes busy. that face, deep in thought is often confused with grumpy or worry but oh no shes simply deep in thought and probably hasnt even noticed you.

so this images is for all those thinking girls who get pissed off when a fellow walks by, interups your thoughts and tells you to cheer up !!!!

writing a post at the moment is a bit like pulling teeth...actually its not that bad.
so this will be an attempt to put letters on the screen and feel i can scratch off another chore for the week.

things i feel like live been doing for EVER

1. reknitting the front of a jo sharp cardigan....knitting patterns blow my brain sometimes so after reknitting one side twice i think ive got it....now to reknit the other side...im working on a year as a dead line!

2. a quilt, two sheets joined together with a bit of wadding inbetween....easy yes but im stuck in the edges...the top and bottom edges i simply turnd the bottom sheet over the top but the sides have the quilting lines, you know the type, basic lines...im thinking bias binding....

(talking of bias binding...when i was growing up my mum always called bias binding, boris binding. i dont know why or how it just was and who were we to know any different. infact it wasnt until i moved to sydney in my early twenties and walked into a sewing shop that i saw the word BIAS...yep almost half my life ive known that bindind as boris... infact we have a list of words my mother has made up, as children we never doubted her now it just makes us cry with laughter, its the one truely bonding moment our family have together)

3. finishing of the chickens nesting box, yes those girls are laying....in our neighbours backyard.
so tomorrow im klipping their wings and giving them a set of nesting boxes the queen would love to nest in.

4.painting the hall door into a blackboard....ive done the first coat...weeks ago

there you go all done another post and a lovely pickie of a blanket i found in a pram in hard rubbish a while back. an original pamela walker print

girls with big feet

i was up at 7.30am the other morning only to hear the sound of a cock-a-doodle do....from OUR coup(the neighbours had heard it at 5.30am...) yep one of our girls is a boy... now dont get me wrong im into a little cross dressing, playing around with gender rolls but this chicken is my pride and joy. she (he) is white with grey specks, a sweeping tail and as we noticed a few weeks ago rather large feet. i didnt really think anything of it, i just assumed it was all the porridge scraps she was eating....hum not so.

so back she has gone to the people we got her (him) from and swapped for a mangy older chicken. i tell you its the story of my backyard chicken life, ive had a chicken with a broken leg, a chicken with a malting problem and now this. im the new mother theresa of chickens. the settling in stuff is going slowly, its tough having a new lodger and trying to reorginise your pecking order. but there it is things have quitened back down and our neighbours can sleep in.

oh and we are still waiting for eggs....
